The sad thing about environmental issues, is a lot of people just hear "Global Warming" whereas we're doing a lot more to the environment then Global Warming. Even if Greenhouse gases and carbon emissions etc. weren't an issue, there'd still be the diminishing water resources, landfills, de-forestation and so forth whose side-effects on the planet can't be denied.

That's why I like to use the term "climate change" since it avoids the "Where's global warming when you need it?" comments on cold days. In my view, most of the problems of the world (those your mentioned) would be solved (at least partially) with a non-negligible decrease of the world population.

@mesoteto

Even with that point of view, do you still take steps that are environmentally friendly, yet at the same time save you money such as buying compact fluorescent light bulbs?

@ Konnichiwa

I agree.

@Nordlead

Thanks for the tips.

Not to start a controversy, but I wonder how environmentally conscious the world would be if religious doctrine or sacred literature had mentioned environmental issues.
