Why are 3rd party exclusive deals suddenly a great thing now?

Could you drop the the dudebro rhetoric, even though I'm sticking my nose in a conversation that was using it since the begining? I conveniently ignored that said conversation was about how Sony itself has put most of it's emphasis on Shooters, and refocus it on the PS4 library because I believe it has the most diversity out of the 3(?), in hopes of making Sony look good. Shooters are popular in the west and Sony is simply following the trends like they always do. It's the logical way to gain a stronger foothold with the dudebros. This gen is proof that the third parties carrying Sony are not sacrificing any genre for another while Sony works in their army of FPS and open world games. Though, no other console manufacturer has really sacrificed any genre, but I'll pretend they did.
