The notion of voting for a President based on his opinion of video games is absurd

True. But no doubt his comment will only enhance his image, he's one of few (and probably the most notable) politician to not sound like fox news when he talks about games.

I may not be american and have no real say in their election, but I'd be really disappointed if Obama doesn't become the democrat candidate and then win the election. Not to be sexist or anything, but imo it's more important that America gets it's first non-white president. I know that there have been very notable Black leaders and even politicians (Dr. King and Mandela spring to mind) but they were obviously given alot of scrutiny and a lot of vilification. On the other hand there's been a few notable female leaders that haven't copped as much flack (Queen Elizabeth II, Prime Minister of NZL if she's still in office, not 100%).

Political rant over.

Personally, I think it's more important that America get someone who is willing to cross party lines and is capable of undoing Bush's mess into office than it is to elect a woman or black man just for the sake of doing something different.

If you believe in Obama or Hillary's politics, so be it. Vote for them. But to vote for them simply because it's "ground-breaking" and "progressive" is bullshit. Vote for the person you feel can do the job, color or sex be damned.
