HDMI 1.4 can output 3840×2160 at 24/30fps... that is 4k.

Indeed Etho-Senpai. I do not think Sony wants to push 4K for this generation. Perhaps the next since AMD seems to be pushing heavy on 4K graphics cards (assuming they will help Sony in the first place).
