I can go on... they really confirmed the feature multiple times. Two off hand replies on twitter from one dev when the game was in beta(real beta stage, not destinys "beta" stage) is multiple sources of confirmation that it would be in the final game these days? From that Gaf thread the main complaint was that they withheld information in regards to splitscreen, not that they came out and said "yes definitely in the game" then removed it. Most people were upset and thought splitscreen would be in the game because it has always been included in halo games moreso than because of anything 343 said or confirmed. If you take off hand comments and single out devs and what they say on twitter on a game nearly a year from release then you'll find a lot of devs lie.
The main guy calling them dishonest even admits he went too far pages later but whatever, if you want to view 2 tweets by the same guy back in December as multiple sources of confirmation that splitscreen was definitely in the game then go ahead.
