I know they postponed Splatfest because they were having connection problems, but at least on my end, they're still there.  My connection is fine, but I'm not exaggerating when I say that 75% of the matches I play are determined by which team has the guy/guys who drop/quit.  No joke.  We get creamed, I look at the scores and see that someone got no kills and one death, or no kills/deaths at all.  We wreck the other team, I see that the same has happened to them.  One time we even had someone drop but still managed to win...because the other team lost TWO guys.  And the quarter of the time when no one drops?  Then the standard problem with Splatoon in general comes into play--you lose/win because of some kid who doesn't know how to play and wracks up a 0/12 ratio while shooting absently at the wall.  All of this ad infinitum.  Of the thirty or so matches I just played, I'd say that three of them were good honest fun where eight players were just duking it out until the end.

I've still got time until the July 4th festivities begin, and I was rocking a big streak, but I just decided to quit.  The victor in almost every match is arbitrary, and the outcome of cats vs. dogs will be too if these problems are across the board.  These problems do happen outside of Splatfest, but not quite as bad.  If this game is going to have lasting appeal they need to have a ranked Turf Wars option, because it's my favorite mode, but the casual nature makes it difficult to do well in.

Am I totally out of line, here?  Is everyone else having a grand old time and I'm just looking too deep into this?
