Still loads of life left in the ps3 and Sony are not one for stopping hardware early. The PS2 did good sales in South America for many years and maybe still does and the PS3 will fill those shoes. It will likely still be sold in 2020 perhaps only in poorer countries but you never know. It's in Sony's court want they want to do with it. It wouldn't be ridiculous for Sony's standalone blu-ray players to feature ps3 game compatibility as a bonus feature sometime in the future.

My own haul of ps3 games must be something like 80 retail games often pre-owned though perhaps 30 bought new although mainly discounted

Maybe 20 games bought digitally that were also retail releases

Then perhaps 25 indie games digitally

Others are bonus games from psn plus.

i probably have 200 ps3 games in total across both uk psn and usa psn accounts plus discs

This contrasts with my wii u where I've bought zero games digitally although have about 3 thanks to 2 coming with a secondhand wii u and 1 from the mario kart promotion

Then perhaps 20 wii u retail games

I'm a great fan of the ps3 as I love 3D games and its the only console that ever really gave serious support to 3D televisions and projectors.
