In this case the NX would be considered an 8th gen platform since Nintendo is still competing with PS4/X1 and not PS5/X2 ...
There's no good reason to see it as an early 9th gen console either since Nintendo's competitors are not looking at a shorter lifetime nor will they be able to release a platform with significant performance advantages to differentiate against other 8th gen platforms ...
