Actually there is nothing wrong with altering a few things. After Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, and Advent Children, there can definitely be additions in the story to tie everything in. As for battle system, we've even those wearing the nostalgia goggles, using a battle system like tri ace's Valkyrie Profile 2 would work wonders.
