well we speaking the era after SNES, when games like grandia, tales and other rpg was flourish and had a new and more inovative battle system, FF on PS one era still using the old one from SNES era even until FF X, most of people who play a lot of RPG love Final fantasy because of Story, graphic, art style, music and CG, and leveling system but for battle system it always in the midle, when you look and read old review you will find a decent score on how avarage the battle system is. Especially when they going to updated the graphic on FF7 remake they have to make battle more cinematic or faster and lead to more of action oriented but i hope they will have both combine between turn based and action, thats why western RPG a head of JRPG because they can satisfied both.
