The last of us is a new IP and outsold Uncharted 1 and maybe 2 since The last of us is way undertracked on vgchartz so maybe Last of us will be a bigger IP then Uncharted

LAST OF US was a break-out hit and it is hard to sustain its high popularity plus benefited from Walking Dead Zombie craze

Plus it came at the end of PS3's console life with a much bigger install-base

 

UNCHARTED on the other hand is a proven and stable and high performing franchise which can go a long long way surely.

Gran Turismo 6 came in ps3 life time but it didn't sold anyway near Gran Turismo 5 and it flopped,i doubt The last of us was success just because of install base.

you can't know if The last of us 2 with sustain it's popularity if the game don't exist
