So today I just sold Batman Arkham Knight after struggling to get in to it.  I'd only previously played Arkham Asylum which I loved but Arkham Knight just didn't click with me.  I hated the driving mechanics right off the bat, didn't care much for the story and the open world just lacked personality for me.  I know it rated well and I know millions love it.

But its not the first time this gen I've picked up a game and then sold it on within a week because I just couldn't get in to it even though I know they are supposed to be good games.  It happened first with me with Shadow Of Mordor, which I just found really boring and then a few months after the same happened with Dragon Age.  I wanted to like DA, but I couldn't get a foothold in the story whatsoever.  Having not played the last gen ones, dialogue was being thrown at me left right and centre and I didn't have a clue what anyone was going on about.

Anyone else struggled with a game that is so universally praised but it just doesn't click for one reason or another.  Thing is, it's not like I don't even like the genres these games belong to.  I mean, the Witcher 3 has grabbed me (similar I guess to DA in terms of gameplay), I loved AC Black Flag (similar to Mordor?) and Batman in reality isn't really that much different to Assassins Creed etc either.
