I DONT get it either, especially when both games are at the peak right now (well more Melee). The only thing i hate is Melee fanboys wanting SSBU to go down.

Why when clearly both can co exist? Especially giving that it makes the brand (SSB) more viable in the fighting community?!

People have a fear that one game will eclipse the other for support (as follows in most other fighting franchises). The only way for them to coexist, is for people to stop treating them as games under the smash bros titles, and to treat them as individual games (nintendo naming the game smash Wii u does not help at all).

Likewise, melee fans need to stop talking trash about other fighters, and smash Wii u fans need to stop telling melee fans to "move on to something better." Both fan bases are acting like spoiled brats and this needs to stop or nothing gets accomplished
