So it's okay to throw money at aa batteries? 7  hours is more than enough, I get about 10. Get you a 15 dollar charge cradle and call it a day. Really tired of people blowing this thing out of proportion

My game pad last about 4 hours. Way shorter than the dualshock 4.

Every household that can afford an Xbox One has AA batteries, and with 20 hours per set, you're not "throwing money" at AA batteries.  Really tired of people blowing this thing out of proportion.

All sarcastically delivered facts aside, I said it earlier but you might have missed it: out of the box, the PS4 is easily in the worst situation.  The Wii U comes with a substantially long AC adapter to charge the Gamepad.  I naturally prefer to play without cables like everyone else, so I got an extended life battery.

The Xbox One gets 20 hours per AA set, and most techie types such as myself own rechargeable batteries as it is.  I eventually bought the official battery pack for the Xbox One controller because it came with a super long charging cable, and I wanted to be prepared for longer gaming sessions with the extra 5 hours.

So instead of assuming you think I'm here trash talking the DS4, recognize that I will clearly be deciding on a solution (which seems to be a larger capacity battery).  However, out of the box, it's in the worst possible overall scenario as the other two have much more ameccable means/conditions of initially dealing with battery life.

Yeah, if you ignore you already paid money for those batteries that go in other things. Like remotes and what ever else. At 6 dollars a pack it would be just a few weeks. Maybe 2 months tops and you could have bought a charging dock. Quite frankly the Xbox is by far the worst position. Not having a chargeable batteries in this day and age is insulting to consumers.  And you can also ignore the fact you probably have a cord and a wall charger for a cell phone. or a million other usb devices you might have around the house you can use to charge the DS4 while playing even. Like I said, if your getting 7 hours a charge that's plenty, unless of course you have a hard time plugging you controller in after you're done, which is why I suggest the charging dock. Just drop it and and you're done.

And i can't agree with you. Out of the box the Wii U is going to need to most charging, and ya it comes with a long cord. The Xbox will have you deciding to add batteries/rechargeable or play and charge kit with in 20 hours out of the box. Ps4 just plug it into you cell charger and keep playing.

Long cable did you say?

One pack of AA batteries... Hmm..
