The Bible is a very different story. There assembly of the modern bible has taken place over hundreds of years. The church, over the years, has voted on what books to include or not include in the Bible. There are also books that are referenced by have been lost to time. In addition, there is the issue of translation. Part of the reason Christianity spread was the decision to allow people to worship in their own language. This means the Bible has been translated, a lot, and we know that there are significant differences between versions. Even something as pivotal as the ten commandments vary between protestants and catholics. They can't all be right so at the very least, some of the Bibles out there are flawed. So, even if we assume there is one version of the Bible that is the real deal, we still have half or more of Christians that are reading something that is at least in some part flaws. |
I'll respond to your other post later, I don't feel like reading all that and typing a lot again right now.
But, I don't think that someone needs a perfect Bible. As long as the Bible teaches that Jesus is Lord and that you have to repent and seek him with all your heart, it is fine. If you seek him with all of your heart, you will find him, and obviously he is more qualified to teach people than a book that cannot speak.
Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!
