I feel your pain on the PS4 controller battery issue (I bought a couple of 6 ft cables that I use for PS4 and Xbox One) but do you really believe that buying batteries for the Xbox controller out buying a charge and play kit is a better solution? I prefer the One by far and I use rechargeable AA batteries when I want to go wireless but it really is the worst solution. Even Nintendo ditched AAs this gen.
Throw money at the problem!
