MS makes a lot of hardware devices? Hmmm, news to me.

Anyways, don't see this happening. Actually makes zero sense to me on why ms would need to buy a chip designer.

Microsoft make alot of things, Mobiles, Tablets, Hard drives, Consoles, Servers, Watches, Cameras, Keyboards, Mouses, Headsets, controllers, Hololens, Kinect etc

Having your own chip manufactor means they can design there GPUs around there APIs, that would make a massive difference in the final results.

I agree that there would be a number of obvious benefits for the greater community.  But, MS has a lot of strategic alliances that may have trouble with the idea.  All of their PC/Tablet/Laptop makers who distribute their products with windows in them might consider this another issue.  If these manufacturers use Intel, there might be some problems over time.  And INtel themselves could have trouble with the great "Wintel" alliance being two sided.

I doubt it will happen either way, but MS would make the most sense of the 3.

It is near the end of the end....
