Yeah, because it is not like it wasn't the best selling series last generation.
It's not the media hype that is getting it the sales, its the sales that got it the media hype. You're falling for the "post hoc ergo propter hoc" fallacy, coming after something doesn't necessary mean it was caused by what came before - in this case sales resulting from media hype. It got hugely hyped by the media as a result of the massive success that came last generation.
