I used http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/release-date/available/ps4/metascore?page=1 for ps4, http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/release-date/available/xboxone/metascore?page=1 for XB1 and http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/release-date/available/wii-u/metascore?page=1 for Wii U, sorted by metascore. Obviously used all the pages for each platform, not sure why your links and the ones I used have different number of games in them. I'll look into it more later.

Okay, I did some poking around the site and I figured out where the difference comes from. Your numbers do not filter out 'unscored' (less than seven reviews) games. My sources did.

So, I guess removing shovelware (or a chunk of it at least) WiiU has the best percentages until you hit the >60 bracket.

Ok, good work! I will say though that removing unscored (less than 7 reviews) games doesn't necessarily remove shovelware, it just removes obscure games which didn't get much coverage. A lot of the time it's because they are bad games, but not always so we just need to be careful about what we draw from that data (same goes for my data in other ways).

Fundamentally, it'll always come down to what individual preference is, which metacritic can't account for. But I do still feel that unless you are a strong fan of Nintendo games (which are quite unique), the PS4 library is the strongest of the three consoles at this point. And for people that might say the Wii U has the best games (which has been done plenty of times on this forum) without throwing an IMO in, this thread is evidence against that argument.
