Guys with all respect. please dont compare this game with Bloodstained and its succes. Bloodstained roots go all the way down to gameboy classic 1989 and the NES. whenever i hear people getting mad over a game that has had its foundation since the old days versus shenmue which was on a dreamcast plus it was only on dreamcast and xbox.
You have to put it like this. a game like shenmue making 3.7 mil is a huge achievement. this game had die hard fans who are promoting this back to back wherever they go.
these are not neccesarily nerds you are talking about. we all have wife and kids. some of us kickbox skateboard and do all of that despite our age. im 32 and i play games skateboard kickbox and make love to my wife.
the reason why i support this goes all the way to my root to the fruit of todaY.
1. shenmue is a unique game made by an honarable man named yu suzuki. this is a great intelect to be compared to einstein of the game industry. unfortunately for him his great games have been on a system that was about going to die. nonetheless the system was about to die, but that didnt mean the games were bad. moreover at the time when shenmue came out people watched it with marble eyes and a watery mouth.
2. shenmue is a game on its own. you may have played many fps nowadays from cod battlefield or any other one wether it be single player or online. you may have played loads of third person games with the same mechanic when you see it the abstract way. you may have played sandbox games or rpgs who are pretty much the same and look like a replica clones of one another.
and this is where i say.
you want something unique
you want something with action and passion
you want to enjoy the environment yet at the same time be interactive in it
you dont want to fight all the time and the contra you want to fight all the time
you want to relax and watch cutscenes in a way that they are like the gameplay itself.
this games unique design even after 14 years havent been defeated. this is a genre on its own. this is shenmue. and funny thing is you could replace the name shenmue with any title and it wouldnt fit. but shenmue is just shenmue. and this is the time to realise and not to complain.
we had rises and falls. and yu suzuki a humble man decided to make us happy; LITERALLY.
the man is old and didnt give up on this because he believes in this cause. he knows the potential of this franchise cause he has all the knowledge. yu suzuki could have stopped and retired. But no the asking for shenmue 3 was fueled combined that he wants to make the game. and we want him to make the game also.
so complaigning about side probems such as the red shirt guy is just silly. he is what he is. but the goal is ours. yu suzuki said it himsellf. its for the fans. and we decide how far into this stuff we get. if we complain and moan and troll and pledge troll then you will soon see an empty comment section. if we hype and strive and help and respect eachother even tho we are not always a happy family. then we will make it. i am confident that we
