I think that there also could still be some bad taste in some 3rd parties mouths from when Nintendo was so dominant during the NES and SNES days and really put the screws on 3rd party developers in terms of royalty fees and the such. Maybe that doesn't account for what we are seeing today but it could be some factor still.

Se the comment about WiiWare. That was a long time ago, and any developer now would just be grasping to use that as an excuse (just as bashers are grasping for using it). Nintendo has changed since then. They now obviously ask little of developers, in order to foster an an environment of creativity. 



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
