no one could have predicted the Wii U's poor sales, but it's not shocking now considering how it was marketed, the name, and the terrible release schedule
if Nintendo had released the system a bit later with better scheduled titles, better marketing (no Wii named involved!!!) and possibly a regular controller bundle option then the system would have done wayyyyyyyyyyy better
even if they had just slightly adapted how the Wii's motion controls were (maybe keep the motion controller but adding a screen to it or something) I think would have done so much better, that or just a normal controller. the tablet doesn't make sense, people don't mind pressing start or select to access a menu or map
