Won't help. Monster Hunter is a handheld franchise in Japan, with an emphasis on local multiplayer.
Monster Hunter Tri was the best selling console Monster Hunter in Japan and it sold 1.05 million (in Japan.) The "enchanced port" for 3DS (with no online) went to sell 1.96 million (in Japan.) The Wii U port sold something like 220k, in comparison.
The top six selling Monster Hunter games in Japan were either on 3DS or PSP.
Dragon Quest would be a better bet for a console revival in Japan.
