In my case, I just usually hate the art style for most J-RPGs that come out nowadays.
No offense to the people that like this sort of style but I just can't stand the moe/chibi style that most J-RPGs seem to have nowadays. Most of my favorite J-RPGs from the 90's have a distinct style that is often more realistic and I generally prefer that. I could never get into Kingdom Hearts so I don't give a damn about the new one but on the other hand I do care about XV because I like the style they are going for.
