I can't believe no one has got the point of this video yet.

This isn't trying to show Mario in modern environments. In fact the environments shown are just stock pre-built demo environments that ship with Unreal Engine 4.

What this video is trying to show is how quick and easy it was for the creator to replicate the Super Mario 64 model and physics into UE4. All the moves have been created from scratch using the blueprints visual scripting feature from UE4 and as you can see from the end of the demo the moves look exactly like they do from SM64. 

What he is trying to show is how easy this was to do for someone with little to no programming knowledge and how well it works. He's showing this off to say to people look what is possible and how good it looks and the potential of UE4.


Best of all Unreal Engine 4 is free so anyone can do this if they put in a little effort. It's an amazing tech demo when you think about it.
