I must admit, I've never known anyone to defend E.T. at adamantly as you do.
Because Im not in your generation when ET was released, so I have a different perspective on  games than most of you. Do you know PONG right? Great game? What if I say to you that it sucks what will your reaction be? But thats what I feel about the game. If not for seanbaby's website I never knew ET game exist, but Im treating it like any other atari 2600 game, blocky graphics literally, no music, only bleeping sounds, and have repetitive gameplay just like any other atari 2600 games like centipede and space invaders. If you take it on that perspective ET wasnt that bad its actually have good graphics at that time, unlike the pure blocky graphics of space invaders. And the gameplay wasnt that bad its actually good if you know how to play it. ET for me was just different thats all...
