Honestly, I hate that this is even news.

Yeah, I get it, being gay in the 21st century isn't a big deal.  But this is Nintendo, like the Berlin wall falling, idealism crumbling over understanding and notions of a new zeitgeist. 

"We believe that our gameplay experiences should reflect the diversity of the communities in which we operate..."

It's not a victory for sexual preference, it's a victory for acceptance and tolerance.
