Looking by how much those specs are above 980Ti, I'm not sure what is the problem with Fury X, is it drivers or not enough ROPs (those 64 look really anemic for such a card). Or it's just that nVidia has really supperior architecture with Maxwell. Anyway, bit dissapointing, was hoping for something that would shake prices a bit.

I'm not sure it's about drivers. Yes, Fiji is new but it's still based on GCN and it's architecture is not much different than the one from the Tonga.

It could be that the 4GB are limiting the potential of the card, but unless AMD launches a 8GB version next year we won't know for sure.
