Fark, tables like this and the OP always floor me at just how far ahead of current gen consoles PC is already, even with PS4 and Xbone less than two years old.

We have console games struggling or even failing to hit 1080p, while in the same game, modern GPUs are spitting out 4K.

To be fair, those modern GPUs cost almost the same than both PS4 and X1 together.

Very true, I believe this one in particular will set you back 350 pounds.

I don't know how bad is the exchange rate for you, but both the Fury X and the 980Ti are advertised as $649.

Here in Spain it's impossible to find the 980Ti for less than 749€, and who knows how AMD's partners will price the Fury X.
