The Wii isnt competing with next gen consoles, its competing with last gen

Prefence is more the key differential factor between the two, not just incremental technology. The chocalate cake may be fancier, but I prefer vanilla.

 

 So if someone preferred black and white to colour television, that is a valid comparison? They are both next gen? Consoles aren't any different to other technology.
