In discussing disc format (aka. Media) I wonder if any company is considering returning to cartrige-type flash drives (or solid State) in the future.

It would make sense - technology is getting cheaper and smaller - read-speed is much faster than disc formats, they'd generate no noise, practially no heat and use much less power.

Yeah the solid state and flash drives are amazing, but the only probem I can see with them, is that in a few years time (3-4 I'd guess) when the next generation of consoles is released, a Blu-disc capable of holding up to 200 gigs of proven data capacity will be like, 13c to manufacture xD a flash drive capable of holding a game ranging from 7-200 gigs of data that you NEED for a game, will not be that cheap :x They'll probably be used for the storage, but blu-ray was a massive step up for optical media, and as much as I would love the solids to be there, I'm just not sure the cost can be met :( Blu-ray is an ideal solution for physical media.
