I like the competition it inspires, but the fanbaby stupidity that comes with it is incredibly tiresome. The internets ability to amplify and exacerbate makes merely looking up gaming news a wearying task, as invariably you'll run into console war skirmishes, maybe even wander into a battlefield.
I don't understand why the current war is still going. I thought we'd hit a certain threshold of dominance at which point people would quit trashing each other. Sony fanboys would quit boasting about mid-range PC settings, and Xbots would quit desperately searching for an Achilles Heel or a super weapon. Ah well.
