Read a bunch of reviews. Basically, the 8GB 390 performs below the GTX 980 on several points and way below the 980Ti. So I'm more or less decided on going for a 980Ti now, it blows everything else besides the Titan X and 295X out of the water and the premium is easily matched by the performance. It also OC's very well according to all sources. Now I just have to choose a 3rd party cooler/OC version. Thinking of EVGA or Asus, leaning more towards Asus for now. Will probably decide sometime in the coming week, I hardly think that Nvidia will be in a hurry to cut the price of the 980Ti since there really is no need with the 390 being so far behind on performance (but still priced rather high here). |
AMD's Fury X launches next week, on the 24th, costs the same as a reference 980Ti, already comes with the best cooler you can find and unless AMD is blatantly lying about its performance, it's basically tied or a little faster than Nvidia's card at 4K.

We'll have to see the performance at 1440p which is the res you want, but it should be fairly similar.
Please excuse my bad English.
