yes, I prefer how Nintendo has been doing it lately. Generally they announce games within a year perhaps a year and a half, with only a few exceptions, offer demos and actual game play footage. There are too many trailers that eventually get downgraded or you find out it isn't in the game that I have conditioned myself not to trust what I see with my eyes.
