You know, certain members on VGChartz should stop trashing outlets just because of the scores they give out for certain games. If you actually read or watch Gamespots review it easily sounds like an 8 or 8.5 but they always use a different scale. A 7 from Gamespot isn't comparable to a 7 from IGN. Gamespot gave Alien Isolation (a game that I love) a 6/10 and while I completely disagree with that score (reviewer clearly didn't get it) I still consider them to be best one of the best mainstream review sites.
Numbers are great but the content of the review is more important. Sites like Eurogamer haven't dropped scores just because, they realize that people pay too much attention to numbers. Also, don't use metacritic to justify your purchases, most of my favorite games of all time didn't even score higher than 90. Its great for list wars but in the grand scheme of things you'll still buy what appeals to you, not what scored higher on Metacritic.
