I don't know if this is the right place for this but with Fallout 4 coming, I guess it's time to upgrade from my HD7850/Phenom 940.
I don't give a darn about ultra high so I'm looking sub-$800. Looks like I can save money going with an AMD processor, perhaps an 8350, but has AMD overcome their multi-core problems? Is DX12 going to help with that? Last time I did any reading on the subject, i5's were killing AMD's comparable 8-core offerings, as many games weren't using them well.
I'm leaning toward going a bit cheap on the processor, anyway, as I've found they can manage quite well under "recommended" as long as the video card is solid.
Any advice is appreciated, as I haven't been paying attention to the PC parts scene for quite awhile.
