Square Enix are the kings of revealing stuff way too early. Appearently KH3 is 'now in developement'. Uhhhh...congratz? It's not like you revealed it three years ago or anything....and do I even need to mention that setsuna project?
Lets be honest FF7 got a pretty cg trailer at least, but that thing probably isn't even really in developement yet, seeing how vague everything the games director has said about it is.
I honestly think revealing some stuff 1-1.5 years early to show your longterm support of a system is not only fine, but even neccessary. Like with all things, it's about the balance, you need enough games that will arrive in the more or less immidiate future to show that you...you know, have games, but have a couple of big exciting things that show a more longterm investment.
