Has one new game mechanic ever totally ruined a beloved series for you?

Well, Ubi killed Desmond, which was a real bummer.

What?  That's the best thing Ubi ever did with assassin's creed.  The very next ac without him was the best game in the entire series by a massive margin, the only lowlight of black flag were the dull snippets of Desmond talking but you could skip those.
