its better than free marketing. they are actually making money through marketing.
I dont mind kickstarter for project like Shemue that would have never happened without.
There are some IPs I would get annoyed if they tried this like Crash Bandicoot.
Legend of Dragoon, sure. Parrappa the Rapper, sure.
Chrono Trigger 2. nope.
