lol, its all semantics really. By gaming standards its a looking like a reboot.

Its of course a "remake", they're not going introduce a new concept of Cloud or deviate hugely from the source material but its sounds like its going to be a reimagining. 

I think it'll be like adapting something from comic/literature to screen. Certainly not a remake like we've come to expect with stuff like Halo CE or th e 3DS Zelda games, Windwaker HD etc

No its not and thats why everybody is company. A reboot is DMC vs DmC. FF7 is not under those circumstances.
