Nah, as a fan of good games and good game events, that was a dreadful show. They mailed it in.
The muppets were pathetic compared to Robot Chicken last year. There wasn't a single fun reveal. Also, some of the most positive feedback from fans during this brutal stretch from Nintendo has been from XCX, Splatoon, Hyrule Warriors, MK8, Zelda WWHD and B2. Even Mario Maker was very well received last year. Fans just like fun content and surprises, and Nintendo failed miserably. A new IP for the core gamer would have had a far greater impact than any of the pillars you mention .
