You don't like home? That's fine because you don't have to use it :) And guess what? The people that do like home, the people that DO use it, make your online service free.
People always talk about how "together" live brings them, Sony's service not only brings you "together" you get an avatar, a house, and places to chill to be "together," Hell they're even giving us special/weird game extras and the PS3 equivalent to "Achievements." Thats perfectly fine if you don't want to use that type of thing, but don't knock a perfectly good idea. It will end up keeping the PS3 online experience free, and in my opinion better.
