Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is due out in a mere matter of months yet publisher Activision is holding its cards very close to its chest when it comes to the latest installment in the generation-spanning franchise.

First released on the PS One back in the 90’s, Tony Hawk’s proved that extreme sports could be made into successful video games, but then Activision went ahead and released a bunch of duds and effectively killed the franchise off. Then, out of nowhere the firm put out Tony Hawks’ Pro Skater HD. It didn’t receive the critical acclaim we all hoped it would be worthy of, but it did alright and for what it was, it was pretty decent.

Activision is taking the game back to its roots, made evident by the ‘Pro Skater 5′ subtitle. We’ll probably see a wee bit of the game in action at this year’s E3, though expect Call of Duty to be the focal point of Activision’s presentation – as usual.
