I think this whole conversation can be summed up in one sentence: VGChartz get your feckin' charts in order!
If the charts were being run they way they were from 200x - Sept 2014 we'd have week 1 of June up, globally, and we'd have somewhat of an idea how things are going for Splatoon around the world. Second week drop for new IP is especially informative as interested fence sitters are likely to buy in the second wek after reviews are out and once there's been a fair bit of word of mouth and Youtubes about it. Reviewing in the low 80's would not mean huge numbers flocking to the game second week, but solid word of mouth and positive youtubes for this would encourage a lot of people to get the game in the second week.
