So apparently, among the news that has come out today from leaks from the Japanese Smash 4 update that went live early... you know what, I'll hide it behind spoiler text, just in case...
Apparently, in addition to Ryu and Roy being confirmed, there are some new Mii outfits. And there are two outfits among the list that are making me think my prediction is suddenly a whole lot more plausible.
Specifically, the outfits are based on Heihachi Mishima and Akuma, from Tekken and Street Fighter, respectively. With this being the first Tekken reference in Smash, and it pairing so naturally with the Akuma outfit, I'm strongly suspecting that Jin Kazama will also be a DLC character for Smash... or at least, another Tekken character, if not Jin. So maybe, just maybe, my prediction is going to come true.
EDIT:
Apparently, I'm a little mistaken. I thought one of the outfits was Akuma. It wasn't. But there ARE outfits for two Virtua Fighter characters, apparently.
