| Normchacho said: I hear this quite a bit, but it never really made sense to me... Sure, now we have fairly low cost smartphones (which is largely due to them being subsidized by plans). But Smartphones didn't just pop up out of nowhere as we have them today. No consumer product launches at the peak of it's potential. Is VR in it's current form perfect? Of course not, but it certainly provides a compelling enough experience to be sold as a consumer product. |
I don't know anything about any ''plan'', and of course smarphones didn't pop out of nowhere, but that's exactly it, in fact that's exactly what i said, the orignal iphone was a piece of crap that most people bought for the novelty, today people have counters to those samsung, and apple conferences where they announce their products and up and coming brands are growing at a strong pace, that's what i mean with VR, yes some people are probably gonna buy it, yes it is necesary as I just said, to go throught these phaces (obviously) but right now, Oculus FE is in ''orignal iphone'' state, it has nothing really worthy for the ''common'' consumer to offer, later, when the tech advances is when we are gonna see improvements and those VR makers are gonna offer the people something that they want because they will be able to afford it; ultimately, if this or that VR set has some feature this other doesn't is not gonna make a difference in sales or development, VR has nothing to offer right now except for the people who want (and can afford) to try something new, people will be paying to be Beta testers which IS NOT something bad, its just that who really cares which features are on the Beta?
