When you play a regular videogame, you brain doesn't think that that is real. It sees it in the same way that a regular video.
When you play on VR, your brain think that it's real. As a human, our brain is trained to detect anomalies in the enviroment. A weird movement in your peripherical vision (during the prehistoric era) could mean a predator. So our brain doesn't like to be tricked. That's why VR demands high framerate and a low persistence display. As you move your head, you brain "checks" the movement data that your eyed provide with the orientation that your labyrinth returns. If it doesn't fits, you get sick.
Now inside a car playing a VR game you will receive information about accelerations in your labyrinth that won't fit what your eyes are seeing. That's bad, pretty bad. These things won't be aligned and you will be sick pretty bad. You can try if you wish and share the results here after you finish washing you car and your clothes :D
