To be honest, you would probably puke your guts out, because your brain would receive the information of being sitted in a static room while your labyrinth would inform all bumps in the road and curves. Half an hour of feeding that conflicting information to your balance centers and brain and you would never want to do it anymore, ever.
VR "tricks" your brain, so you have to be consistent. If it says you are sitted in a room, you better be sitted and not moving.

I really don't see how it is any different. You are immersed in a different world in both situations but are actually on a bumpy car ride.
