WHY I LOVE NINTENDO
It was just a regular day for me. I played games on my PS1, and it was crazy fun, but something was missing from these games, like some sort of "magic" but it didn't matter, I still had fun.
One day, I got a Game Boy from my parents, as well as some used games: Tetris and Super Mario Land. They were pretty good, but nothing that really blew my mind, so I moved on to my PS1 until around the 2000s.
Late 2001 is when I got my first Nintendo console: The Nintendo Gamecube. Alongside it, I got two games: Luigi's Mansion, and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Luigi's Mansion was a fun little adventure that didn't take me too long to beat, but Smash Bros... OH MAN.
All of these cool characters were being flown at my face for the first time. I knew Mario and Pikachu, but I was also like "who's that pink puffball?" "who's the red-capped kid with the PK attacks?" "who is this elegant blue-haired swordsman?!" All of these characters were so cool oloking, that I wanted to find out more about them, and learn their origins.
I'd go on to play several Nintendo games like Pokémon Emerald, and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, both of which were great games during my early years in gaming.
Around 2007 is when I got my Wii, and man was it cool. I got to play Wii Sports with friends, and getting to try out those motion controls were wicked sick!
Super Mario Galaxy was another game that really did do the motion controls flawlessly, and when you combine it with the amazing soundtrack, and gorgeous visuals, it easily became one of the most memorable games I've ever played.
Then, Super Smash Bros. Brawl came out, and my god. It was like Melee all over again, with all these characters flying at my face again. "Who's this angel with a bow?" "Another kid with psychic characters?" "Who's this swordsman who fights for his friends?" The Subpace Emissary co-op was one of the best experiences in my gaming career, as me and my friend proceeded to beat up enemies and all the big bad bosses.
WIth all these cool characters and experiences, I pretty fell in love with Nintendo. I'd go on to own an NES, SNES, and N64 not too long after I had my fill with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and I learned more about these great games over the time, and to go and appreciate these great IPs.
I could go on, but I guess the bottom line is that the wonderful experiences from Nintendo's games, as well as the amazing characters are why I love Nintendo.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
