I won't call all of it crap atm but im just waiting for either Oculus or Morpheus to impress me. I'll have to see at E3 |
i'm pretty down on VR as a tech i'd want to invest my time/money in but do have interest on how it will impact the gameing landscape (if at all). thing about morpheous is the delivery makes so much more sense. it plays off of ps4 without the need to get a really high speced, expensive pc in between. there is one headset not a family of possible devices. the head set looks to be the only one that considered egronomics and comfort as part of its design. it is the only one that has real standardized input devices: ps4 contoller and move controller. those inputs already have a high adoption rate so the is a big base of people that can upgrade to VR at a much more reasonable price than those that have to buy the headset and controllers and camera. and mostly it is backed by sony wihich is not just a platform holder but developer of games (yes that is offense to valve).
i still thing morpheuos has a rough road ahead of itself but i thing it has the best chance.
anyways, my dream handeling of PM at E3 looks like this. unveil the final hardware. unveil price and launch date. state that games can't be demoed well,.. it is a see to believe sort of thing. montage of games supporting PM. ask the press to please join them to try the games demos after the show. move on. read about how people felt about the games later.
